Esperanza Muñóz, La Monita (Natalia Oreiro), je boxerka, která v první episodě prohraje zápas. Její zranění jsou vážná a Monita nemůže na čas zápasit. Druhým hrdinou je Martín Quesada (Facundo Arana, mladý a mocný průmyslník ve stavebnictví. Mezi oběma se začne odvíjet zajímavý příběh...Monita a Martín jsou opaky, které se přitahují. Esperanza Muñóz, La Monita (Natalia Oreiro) se musí vzdát boxerské kariéry kvůli zranění. Tento problém je trnem v oku Monitinu manažerovi a snoubenci Quiquemu. Martín Quesada (Facundo Arana) je průmyslník, jehož důvěrníkem je Alfredo (Alejandro Awada) a jeho sekretářkou je Mercedes (Claudia Fontán). Má také bratrance Miguela (Marcelo Mazzarello), který mu závidí a jeho jediným přáním je zůstat u peněz, stejné tužby má i jeho snoubenka Constanza (Carla Peterson), malicherná dívka, která myslí jen na vdavky. První setkání hlavních hrdinů se naskytne, když Kimberly (Fabiana García Lago), Monitina kamrádka z baráku, říká, že v její práci zaměstnavatel dělá chyby. V půjčeném oblečení se Monita objeví v Martínově kanceláři. Zalíbí se sobě, ale nemají možnost si promluvit. Martín spolupracuje na nadaci, kterou vede kamarádka, která pečuje o tři bratříčky, které Martín nakonec adoptuje. Se vším mu pomáhá právě Monita. Jenže na druhou stranu je Monita zavázána boxu a Quiquemu a nemůže se jich jen tak vzdát.
